Sample of Work:"The tranquil evening air had a brisk, refreshing, autumn feel to it. The view below me was enchanting. I had not expected a scene this beguiling. The smoke emanating from the homes' wood-fueled fires settled in a layered haze in the basin of the valley below while its pervasive aroma wafted up to where I was standing. It smelled good. Symbolically, the layers of smoke were forming a stairway from my past.Ascending the stairway and approaching me were all the ghosts of my heritage. The reality of who I am really hit me here. It was a kind of crash course in heritage awareness..."

Professional Reviews

Land of our Forefathers
No article speaks louder or clearer about how closely we are rooted to our old homeland, the land of our forefathers! Please read the serialized 'Talk of the Town' and read it many times in its connected entirety! And please take the time to ensure that your grandchildren do the same! --- Erich Eichler, former Editor-in-Chief, Heimatbote Magazine, Nuremberg, Germany

Extraordinary Presentation
A most extraordinary presentation, not the least of which is that the 'Talk of the Town' article contains passages that will really grab the audience by serving a correspondingly representative role (i.e., one can replace Benke with (the name of) any other village in Sudetenland). ---Gernot Wildt, former Chief Editor, Sudetendeutsche Zeitung, Munich, Germany

Photos and Documentation
I'm glad The Journal of Religion and Psychical Research published your 'Deja Vu' article. Rarely does one find such good documentation with the great photos! --- Rhea White, Editor, Exceptional Human Experience Network (www.ehe.org), New Bern, North Carolina

Reader Reviews for "The Missing Peace of a Heritage Puzzle"

Reviewed by Floyd Orr 11/6/2006
This is one of the more professionally composed iUniverse books out there. Most of the material was previously published in the U.S., Canada, or Germany. Many b&w photos taken in Sudetenland then and now are included to paint a genuine picture of the story. Frank Koerner has produced a product worthy of the attention in the press it has already received. Unlike The Holocaust and Schindler's List, this true story and this book are relatively unknown. They both deserve more, and Mr. Koerner has done his best to spread the word of a tragic tale in an enlightening, enjoyable, informative manner.
