Zach is back! In Book 2 of the Zach Taylor Adventure series, a legendary cache of Nazi white gold buried in a treasure ship deep beneath the waters of the Caribbean holds the key to a secret alliance between crime families in New York and Europe.
When the daughter of Miami crime lord Don Carlos Santiago is kidnapped from her honeymoon retreat and held for one billion dollars ransom, there’s only one man tough enough and brave enough to find the gold and rescue her – Zach Taylor.
But Zach has troubles of his own. His on-again off-again romance with journalist Erin McShane is on the rocks again. Now, Erin is off to a Caribbean island to uncover the truth about the mysterious disappearance of her father, Senator William McShane. Along the way, she teams up with roguish John Rollo, an adventurer with a fast gun, lots of enemies, and a few skeletons in his closet. Meanwhile, Zach’s childhood sweetheart and Erin McShane’s mortal enemy, Hollywood movie star Jocelyn Haley, is determined to get him back into her life!
It’s a race against time, as Zach must assemble a team of specialists to recover the white gold and pay the ransom or rescue the Don’s daughter before time runs out! When that’s over, maybe Zach will find the time to straighten out his personal life.
Porlamor. Ten days. One billion dollars. You will be contacted.
Bring the money or we will kill her.
Matt Crawford had never heard of Porlamor and had no idea
where he was going to get one billion dollars. Then it
occurred to him that there was only one person he knew
who might have that much money—Valeria’s father.
Don Carlos Santiago.
The thought of asking his father-in-law, the head of a
Miami crime organization, for help was almost as painful
as the bump on his head. And Matt wasn’t even sure
if the Don would help. After all, Valeria had run away
from him, renouncing him and his way of life, vowing
never to return.
It also occurred to him that if he couldn’t come up
with the money, he’d have to enlist the help of someone
he could trust. That someone would have to be
tough. That someone would have to be brave. And that
someone would have to be someone Matt was willing
to bet his wife’s life on.
The name of only one man came to mind.

Zach Taylor is someone you can bet your life on or in this case Matt Crawford is willing to bet his wife’s, Valeria, life on. Zach is a pilot who was in the Navy and has a law degree. Now he is retired from the Federal Law Enforcement Agency, living on a ranch and seeing a psychologist about his anger management and some other issues people think he needs to work through.
Matt doesn't have the money to pay the one billion dollar ransom his wife's kidnappers are demanding but with Zach's help they take on a job to find some White Gold hidden under the seas of the Caribbean. They want to use this as the payment to set her free. Is Zach Taylor the man for the job? Maybe with some help maybe he will pull it off.
Meanwhile Erin, Zach's on off girlfriend is in the Caribbean looking for her father. She teams up with some interesting characters and is most certainly sure to bump into Zach at some point. Although if Jocelyn, an actress and an old girlfriend of Zach's has anything to do with things she won't let her mortal enemy Erin get anywhere near him again.
One year after the case of Blue Diamonds, the first book in the Zach Taylor Adventure series, Zach is back in this rush against time thriller. The first few chapters set the scene well and then things start off and go fast and furious right until the end. With two main plots, that are obviously going to coincide at some point, the author manages to keep the reader guessing until the very end.
With some of the characters from Blue Diamonds making a comeback and some new ones joining the cast, this is a series that is building up to something that is worth following. With amazing eye for detail and great descriptive writing, this sequel to Blue Diamonds reads, again, like a movie script.
A little Ocean's Eleven, a twist of Bourne series and a smidgen of James Bond, this will appeal to many different genre readers with its thrills, action and romance. White Gold ties up all the loose ends for this story but makes sure the reader knows there is more Zach Taylor to come.

The kidnapping of Valeria, Matthew Harrison Crawford's bride, brings Zach Taylor back into action and into the lives of his old nemesis, the crime families Baldacci and Santiago. The ransom is an extraordinary amount that can only be paid by the location of a cache of sunken white gold mentioned only in legends left over from World War Two.
Talented author Spencer Dane has crafted a fast moving adventure that takes the reader from Florida to Cuba and a search for a sunken treasure ship. No one can even be sure this treasure exists, but the hunt is on or a young woman may die.
There are others involved in the search to complicate the plot and the challenge of staying alive is one all sides accept. Lots of action and motives galore for what the characters do.
Come. Jump into tropical waters with Zach and his crew from past adventures as they begin their search. You'll need sunblocker too for the time spent on board the ship they use. A mixed batch of characters join forces in this clever tale, one you will certainly enjoy.
Recommended for any, mystery, suspense, adventure fan as a read that will have you looking for Mr. Dane's other books. Enjoy. I did.

Reader Reviews for "White Gold"
|Reviewed by Greg Cason
|Zach Taylor may have thought he was retiring to his Arizona ranch, but guys like him always end up in the middle of the action. In White Gold, book 2 of the series by Spencer Dane, trouble comes looking for Zach Taylor. Valeria, the daughter of Miami crime boss Don Carlos Santiago, has been kidnapped and Zach is recruited by her husband Matt Crawford to rescue her. Zach needs to put together a team of experts to find a legendary cache of lost Nazi white gold worth a billion dollars and pay the ransom. And, he has to do it all in 10 days. To make things more interesting, Zach’s up and down romance with Erin McShane seems to end with her sudden disappearance. Stepping up to fill the void is Zach’s high school girlfriend, movie star and avowed enemy of Erin McShane, Jocelyn Haley. Jocelyn wants him back and isn’t going to take no for an answer.
In White Gold, Zach doesn’t get to have all the fun. Erin is off on an adventure of her own. The beautiful investigative journalist is on her most dangerous assignment as she tries to learn the truth about the disappearance of her father, Senator William McShane.
The fast-paced White Gold picks up where Blue Diamonds left off with a tight plot full of unexpected twists and turns. All our favorite characters were back and Dane added some new ones for us to enjoy. Again, Dane gets all the details right when it comes to the strategy and equipment the characters use. He lets us know just enough that we understand what’s going on without slowing the action down. We get to peek under the hood of Zach Taylor and see a little bit of what’s behind the strong and silent persona. And, best of all, we get a hint about a third book. The plot of White Gold is resolved, but Dane lets us know that Zack Taylor is in for some more action in the next book.
