Dr. Sparkus T. Mutt continues to console hundreds of canines, quite a few felines, a monkey or two, a couple of horses and several humans in this his third collection of letters.

More wisdom from one of the most extraordinary minds in the canine world! Dr. Sparkus T. Mutt, renowned Canine Therapist, tells it like he sees it and continues to help his readers in the last of his advice trilogy. If you liked It's a Dog's Life and In Dog We Trust, then you shouldn't miss Dog Gone!

Mistaken Identity

Dear Dr. Mutt,

Today, after an altercation with a Beagle and a Lab, some policemen mistook me for a Doberman! I know I look sharp and ferocious, but my heritage is a hodge-podge of genes. I can’t honestly say who my grandparents are, much less who my daddy is!
My mistress informed the cops that I am only a mutt, but she said I was a good mutt and she was very proud of me. Should I hope to be more than that?

Wondering in Westwego

Dear Wondering,

No. There is nothing wrong with being of mixed heritage. Most of the great canines of the world couldn’t tell you who their daddies are, so don’t worry about this. What is important is that you know who YOU are – a canine loved and appreciated by your mistress.

When dogs run free, so will we!
Yippie proverb
not quite the same as
Bob Dylan's version

A healthy society needs healthy dogs. While the minds of human philosophers still wrestle over "the mind / body question," their canine counterparts figured that one out a long time ago. So long as they keep their heads together about this and other profound mysteries of life, they can look out for us.

Strange human behavior, however, remains a cypher to the great majority of dogs. Fortunately, in their anguish our four-legged partners and protectors now have someone to whom they can turn: Dr. Sparkus T. Mutt, Canine Therapist. Even felines benefit from his sage advice.

But we the people? What about us? What are we to think?

Do not THINK. Believe!

Do not QUESTION. Obey!

Accept Sparky into your life as your own personal Wonder Dog before it's too late!

You may think that you, the loyal reader of The Panama News, have seen it all. Actually, due to the vagaries of the publication schedule, you most certainly have not. And can you really afford to have missed any part of Sparky's wisdom?

More to the point, would you be so unkind to a child, or uncharitable to a neighbor, as to deny that person the salvation that comes from The True Wonder Dog, simply because she or he does not read The Panama News?

Buy multiple copies of Dog Gone! and deliver the word, lest someone who means something to you go unsaved. Buy and memorize all of Dr. Mutt's previous works, too. Such is the narrow path to salvation.
