To become great dogs puppies need to be trained. I know that children can care for and train their puppy. This book was written just for them. Only train one command a week. Always remember to praise your puppy when he has done a command correctly by saying, "Good puppy!"

"This book is marvelous." Author JoAnn Dahan definitely took more than five minutes to assemble "Kids Training Puppies in 5 Minutes." A dog trainer for over 15 years, Dahan describes her motivation for the 30-page instruction manual: "...to help children understand the importance of raising a dog properly." A realist, she acknowledges that all Rin Tin Tins, Lassies and Eddies went through the same developmental stages as any pup. The difference is that they began training early. "It's much easier to train a 12-pound puppy than an 80-pound dog." Amen to that.
Photographs by Walter George, colorfully capture the steps along the way as a young child is shown training Sam, a yellow Lab pup. The author appears regularly on her own TV show "Kids Training Puppies" which airs on NJ and PA cable networks, Comcast 21, Patriot Media, channel 8 and Service Electric Cable channel 90 & 50. "

Here's a brand new book for kids ages four to eight. Rarely do we find training books for our younger children, and here is one that fits the bill. Filled with color photographs on every page, each instruction is presented in simple language and easy vocabulary and includes a DVD.
With only a couple of sentences on each page, seven and eight year-olds will find it easy reading, while four to six year-olds will enjoy hearing it read to them first, and later learning to read it themselves. Even the youngest kids in this age group will be able implement the methods described in this sweet book.
