Chapter 7
The Palace Of The Princess
The Snow Palace seemed taller than a mountain. He was afraid of what might lie just behind the shiny palace doors. Gathering all his courage, Chandler lifted the huge brass door knocker and let it drop hard against the plate. Soon he heard soft footsteps within the Palace and held his breath to see who....or what, would greet him. He was homesick and he wanted his parents. He even missed Alli his little sister!
What if the Princess is evil and she makes me do something scary for her before she will tell me how I can getback home? He thought as he shivered with cold and fear.
"Who's knocking on the royal door? Who requests entrance to speak with Her Highness?” A voice from inside asked.
It was a deep voice and Chandler thought it sounded like some of the wrestlers he had heard on TV.
The Princess must have a big wrestler guarding her, he thought.
He tried to speak but the words caught in his throat and before he could tell the scary voice his name it continued to speak.
"It's you Chandler and your two noble terriers, Roscoe and Winnie. The Princess has summoned you here for an important task. Come in, come in and warm yourselves.”
Chandler knew the man behind the door must be at least seven feet tall with big muscles and he probably had a terrible temper. He probably could throw you down and break your bones if he didn't like you or you failed to do what the princess asked.
