Hamelin A Musical Tale of The Pied Piper is a musical in two acts featuring 20 original songs Suitable for an all age college production.

Most people know the story of the Pied Piper who charmed a plague of rats from the town of Hamelin and who, when the town Corporation refused to pay him, charmed away all the children but one. Through this play you will discover why the rats were in Hamelin, who the crippled boy was and how the Pied Piper managed to perform his musical feats. Throughout the play there is drama, humour, a little magic, much singing and dancing and even a spot of romance. Act one introduces the Town Corporation and brings the rats to Hamelin. Act two introduces the Pied Piper who takes the rats away. Excerpt
Leisel: Does your flute play magic music?

Piper: Indeed it does little one; for there is magic in all music, a magic that stirs the very soul, that reduces strong men to sobbing replicas of their former selves. A magic to calm, to soothe, to lull a babe to sleep or to incite to battle! and I, humble piper that I am, am but a slave to that magical master, music.
