Horse lovers of all ages can read with pleasure as Mookie the Mustang tells his own story about being born in the wild and running free, as many would like to do. He tells of his family structure and herd etiquette, as well as the hardships his family incurs during winters and in times of drought.

Horse Tails by Mookie the Mustang is a colorfully illustrated children's book filled with adventures from romping carefree with his friends and befriending a Bighorn lamb to startling a rattlesnake and encountering a mountain lion. Mookie keeps the reader wondering what is going to happen on the next page.
His horse herd is eventually rounded up and he is adopted by loving owners who make sure he always has shelter from the elements and enough food and water
Excerpt
"During the summer months, we grazed on yummy green grass that grew in high mountain meadows. We foals kicked, bucked and chased each other. We played king of the mountain, rolled in the dust to scratch our bug bites, and took naps in the warm summer sun."

Having previously read Ms Gott's book "So You Wanna be a Cowgirl", I recognized her name and checked out her line of children's horse stories--I liked "Horse Tails by Mookie the Mustang" very much as did my seven year old daughter. I will purchase "Horse Tails by Shasta" next.
I hope you keep writing. Your horse knowledge is impressive and I like the way this information comes across to children and adult readers. |

I bought the book for my six-year-old niece but do not know who liked it more, she or me.
I found it very informative and my niece absolutely loved the illustrations.
Great job Patricia, keep up the good work and I look forward to your next book. |
