. . . I had just started to speak to her with an opening line that seemed perfectly suitable for the early morning hour, when I lost control of my tray. I quickly bent over and groped for it, attempting to catch it before it crashed to the floor. Instead, I slapped the tray forward and catapulted my cereal bowl right at Carly's leg, bouncing it off her right thigh and soaking her with milk.
