Learn to make homemade soap with step by step instructions.

Making Soap for Fun and Profit is laid out so the novice soap maker can make the kind grandmother used to make and gradually with each chapter add colors, exfoliates and scents for looks, texture and aromatherapy. The book concludes with a brief history of soap making and an interview with the author about how she started her soap business. Excerpt
My grandmother made soap for doing the luandry in her basement. I can stil remember the pungent odor permeating the downstairs. I remember my hands feeling silky from playing with the flakes in her laundry soap box.

Today I make soap in the kitchen. It feels just as gentle and silky to the skin as my grandmother's. It definitely smells better than hers!

Reader Reviews for "Making Soap for Fun and Profit"

Reviewed by Linda Beattie Inlow 1/11/2006
Making soap is an opportunity to share in my past and remember my grandmother and her flaked laundry soap homemade in her kitchen. Although her process was a bit more elaborate and her soap doesn't smell as good as mine (I know, this is a personal opinion), I love the connection to her and her past.
I hope others enjoy the experience.
