Spirited Chat
My Private Journey

Dear Fellow Seekers, Dreamers, and soon-to-be Friends;

About two years ago I sat down and wrote this book; it was a different time and place for me then. My older brother was thirty-three years old and I had just had my highly successful business swindled from under me. It was at that moment when life had given me the worst of the worst that I wanted to capture the spirit of my journey thus far in life and return to my calling to help others. All that had happened pointed to true signs that I should complete my project of many years and reveal that life must be challenged at every turn. It took me exactly eight months to translate from mind to paper the many experiences, failures, successes, adventures, ups-and-downs, and “sponged up” knowledge into a coherent, sharable work.

As I searched to find the correct publisher, two years of life experiences raced by. At the lowest point in my life, September 21, 2004, my brother passed away at the tender age of 35. All of our plans became one-sided; our dreams together had not had a chance to become reality. The hopes and dreams that I envisioned in my mind came to a screeching halt. One thing about life is that it teaches us lessons we wish we had learned before defeat sets in and changes our views and direction.

The fact that my brother did not leave a will allowed me to lose two family members -- my brother and his son, whom I helped raise from three days old. I find it amazing what people will do, “in the name of family,” that is really nothing more than actions reflecting selfish thoughts, greed, and misplaced spite.

As eager as I was to complete this project, I delayed going with my first publisher. I felt that there was more to add, more to share, more people to reach. A funny thing happened about six months ago. I was sharing some thoughts with a friend about life and moving ahead when he told me about a publisher he knew. As a habit I try to be open to the universe and all it has to offer even if it seems to be to good to be true. I agreed to meet his friend the publisher and, boy was I impressed! I decided that I liked the publishing company and they had the same “let’s help others” attitude that I do.

But life wasn’t through playing tricks on me. That night after meeting with them, I returned to the computer to pull up the only copy of my book from the disk and email it. To my great shock the disk would not open. Eight months of work lost, with the exception of my original draft. Determined as always not to be defeated, I wrote a new and improved version of the original draft. Life is all things; it encompasses all of the good, the bad, and the ugly.

It is my hope that my life experience, drive to succeed, and an un-wilting hope that we can make the world a better place, will inspire and motivate all who read this book to make a difference and pass it on. We truly have one life to live and I hope that we all live this life aspiring to leave behind a personal legacy of grand triumphs, victories, and records to beat and break, for all the Jr’s. of the world to come.

With Great Thought and Hope,

Torrance L. Wade~

Excerpt

Many people underestimate the power of the mind, which leads to failure in most cases. Oftentimes it is our own mind that prevents us from moving forward in life and taking that much needed leap of faith.

There is a saying that I believe in greatly put your mind to it and you can do anything.” As you prepare to take the journey to becoming the Boss I want you to keep this chapter in the back of your mind as you configure your thoughts and plan of action.

It is our imagination that gives us our dreams. It is our dreams that give us hope. It is our hope that gives us our faith. It is our faith that gives us the drive. It is our drive that gives us the reality that our dreams one day can come true if we consistently work hard every day at inching closer and closer to making it happen.
