LoveDance is HERstory
Just before the spring equinox of Hebrew year 3772, fourteen year old Mary dances down the streets of Nazareth to meet her friend, Yeshua, but quicker than she can catch her breath, she is joining him on the altar in a sacred sexual ritual to unite the feminine and masculine energies of the Divine. Thus begins the marriage of Mary, daughter of the Hasmonaean dynasty and Yeshua, heir to the throne of David.
Although passionately in love, Mary finds that being the wife of the Hebrew’s promised messiah more than challenging. Her husband struggles between patriarchal expectations and his own perceived true purpose, while his chosen council of advisors cannot accept an unveiled woman into their circle. But Yeshua insists on keeping his beloved wife at his side, for Mary is his most passionate disciple. Traveling through volatile Roman-occupied Palestine, the couple engages mystic skill to avert danger, but will their marriage be able to withstand Mary’s ensnaring love for Yeshua’s best friend?
Dark and beautiful Mary tells the story of her awakening in this magically inspirational page-turner.
Unbridled and bare, Sheikan stretches low to gallop across the sandy hills. The wind whisks by as our breath matches one another until there is one spirit, rucha, residing within us—horse, rider, earth. In the austere beauty of the desert, dotted by the minute potential of life, where the golden sand touches the clear blue sky, the hayye of the Great Mother pulsates. Like a pregnant woman, the translucent golden hayye encases a rich green flicker of living potential.
Circling back to our companions, Teoma’s mare nickers in welcome, yet we slip from the illusion of the desert of Judaea into the reality of living potential. The oasis Sheikan projected greets us with lush fertility. Rich green vegetation of enormous proportions surrounds a living spring whose moisture purifies the air passing through our nostrils. Birds adorned in rainbow feathers sing cheerfully, as strange furry creatures scamper underfoot. As far as the eye can see, the damp forest drips with life, chattering monkeys and vibrant snakes hanging from the fruit-laden branches. We have entered the womb of the Great Ima, for beneath the veil of sand exists this vibrant infant ripe for birth.
from Chapter 22 Shifting Illusions
“LoveDance: Awakening the Divine Daughter” is the first book in the LoveDance series which chronicles the author’s version of Mary Magdalen’s story. It begins with her finding out that she is betrothed to Yeshua, her childhood friend, whom she has always loved. She is surprised that her wealthy parents agreed to an alliance with him because he is just a carpenter’s son. After their union, Yeshua is committed to keeping her at his side as an equal. She helps him to stay grounded and connected.
This is a beautifully told story. It begins with their engagement and takes them through the trials that Yeshua experienced early on in his life. His goal is to unify the tribes of Yisrael. He feels this is his calling. But in so doing, he has to deal with opposing factions. Along the way, the couple also has their own issues in their relationship. They have the births of their children and Mary’s attraction to Yeshua’s best friend and another woman. Yeshua deals with this the best that he can.
Unlike the stories commonly told of Mary Magdalene being a whore, in this story she comes from a respected family and plays a critical role in Yeshua’s life. She carries a tremendous amount of sensuality which seems to draw others to her. Her sensuality and feminine energy unite with Yeshua’s male energy to make them whole as one. Readers with open minds will love this story. Traditional fundamental Christians will probably not be comfortable with it.
“LoveDance” takes the story of Mary Magdalen and Christ to another level. Instead of it seeming like a dryly-written story, it is rich with description that goes beyond the mundane. Everything that the characters are experiencing is described so that the reader can feel it, see it, and smell it. This also works on the spiritual level. Colors of auras are described. Mary and Yeshua are able to leave their bodies to have experiences on purely spiritual levels. Mary also learns about the power of manifesting from thoughts. Being that Christ had so many special gifts, it seems to me like this might be more like how his life really was. Read “LoveDance” and decide for yourself.
LoveDance is a lovely and timely book
"I feel it is important that we as humans endeavor to get back to the Divine Mother. Mary's story is a parable for all of us. It's time for us to get back into balance. Amazing that even 2000 plus years ago we were swayed or coerced into certain beliefs by politics and male dominated religion. Not too different from the present. This is a perfect time for your book." Kathryn Ross Elliot, actress The Graduate, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Stepford Wives
LoveDance - the path of love
"Every great soul understands the depth of true union—both worldly and divine. LoveDance helps illumine the doorway of the heart...for all those willing to step through it. And, moreover, it shows the path of love for what it is—an extraordinary, enlightening adventure!" Raymond Prohs, author of Mystic Living
