The Art of Patience
My dad was like all human dads with his share of problems, challenges and faults that taught me as much as his positive characteristics. But, he always seemed superhuman to me, especially in later years, overcoming all kinds of physical problems and challenges after a stroke with all its complications and frustrations changed his lifestyle.
For 14 years, this once vital, strong and independent man depended on others to do for him what most of us take for granted. Even though his mobility and speech were severely limited, quite possibly this part of his life became his greatest teaching example.
