Mochudi stepped closer to the view-screen for a better view, his running conversation with Archo continued. “Archo, you should look up the meaning of the words fossil and subphylum.” He requested rotation of the next frame.
“I believe my input on both words are correct, Doctor Hwangi. It seemed appropriate to me that I should add to the requested scan list. Has there been a ------?”
Suddenly! His eyes caught something! ‘No! It couldn’t be!’ “Shut up,” Mochudi's adrenalin filled words commanded! “Rapid run these frames and continue to rapid run them until I tell you to stop!”
“Would you like me to finish my previous conversation first, Doctor Hwangi?”
“Forget the other conversation! Rapid run these frames! Do it NOW, Archo!” Mochudi's frustration was about to explode into anger.
“Yes, Doctor Hwangi.” The wall view-screen began flashing the frames. Again and again fifteen frames flashed across the screen.
Mochudi quickly aligned the cross-hairs over an area. “Archo, enhance the cross-hair area as many times as possible and still keep clarity! AND, call somebody, anybody! Tell them to get down here on the double! I need someone here, NOW, to verify what I see!” His eyes never left the viewer-screen that covered the wall in front of him, he did not move a muscle.
“Yes, Doctor Hwangi.”
Prince Derrell, headed toward the lounge for a quick lunch, flipped his mini-vid-phone on as it buzzed. “Derrell here.”
Lord TooGá's face appeared. “Your Grace, I have been requested to call somebody, anybody. Doctor Hwangi is in Science Lab1. His voice carries a high stress level. He said 'he needed someone, NOW!' I called Your Grace because you are the head of the expedition. Doctor Hwangi requires somebody, anybody, to get down to the lab, on the double!”
Derrell flipped his phone shut, spun around and ran for the lift, mindcalling Agyenyeska. “Honey, I just had a strange emergency call from Archo to come to Science Lab1. Will you meet me there?”
They met in the outer lab hallway and entered SL1 together.
Mochudi was sitting on the floor??? watching the wall view-screen flash in front of him. Never taking his eyes off of the screen, he snapped, “Who is it?”
Surprised at the agitation in the normally calm African’s voice, rapid strides take Agyenyeska and Derrell across the lab. Their eyes looking at the flashing wall screen, which seemed to fascinate Mochudi.
“Derrell and Agyenyeska,” Derrell said, “I got a ca-----. By All the Gods! Are those bones moving?” His eyes had caught the movement on the wall screen. Agyenyeska grabbed his arm and they stood transfixed.
“Yes, M’Lord,” Mochudi whispered, “those bones ARE moving! There is life on Mars! Life! Can you believe it? Life!”
They joined Mochudi on the floor and sat transfixed. Their minds racing in all directions, astounded at what they saw!
“Archo,” Mochudi hissed, “I asked for the information that goes with these frames! Where is the information?”
“Doctor Hwangi, if you were to look at the frames one at a time you would see the information is in the lower right corner as you requested.”
