Exceeded My Already High Expectations
When I got this digest, I was hoping for a magazine much like Cemetery Dance and other horror publications. I couldn't have been more wrong! This is no flimsy magazine format, but more of a larger paperback sort of book. It will easily last through many readings and look quite nice on a bookshelf as well. The stories were first rate, with a level of talent that I had not expected, and the other features were both amusing and well written. I would say this is a MUST for any fan of horror! KUDOS to you Stan Swanson and Dark Moon Digest!
Awesome stories. I have been a fan of horror genre and pulp magazines for sometime. This digest is something that is of high quality. My kudos to the editor/creator/owners. The magazine is not full of gratuitous violence or anything like that...they are things that tickle the human psyche. The true horror in any situation--in my humble opinion---is situational to the characters in place. The stories in this collection are very well written. I would like to get subscription information on future issues. I have read the book cover to cover and look forward to more.
Finally a High Quality Horror Digest, Wish it Was Monthly
I've been an avid reader of Weird Tales for a long time, but was looking for something more to satisfy my hunger for good horror short stories. Well, this magazine has accomplished that in a big way. The stories were entertaining, as for the features, not sure yet, I've just read the stories, but that is what I'm looking for. I wish it could be monthly, hopefully in the future if everyone catches on it will be. The magazine itself is nicely bound like Fantasy and Sci-Fi magazine and feels more like a book than a mag. I prefer this as it feels more secure, and also being a collector, harder for accidents to damage. Anyways, if your looking for good horror short stories, give this magazine a try. I'd tell you my favorite story, but that wouldn't be fair to the other authors as each was enjoyable in it's own way.
