Forgotten Memories: A saga of romance, intrigue, lies, and secrets.

FORGOTTEN MEMORIES; a saga of romance, intrigue, lies, and secrets.
Ella Martin, a beautiful woman who seemed to have it all. The love of a wonderful man, rewarding career, and a safe organized life—nothing out of the ordinary—until the dreaming started. Haunting dreams that threatened her sanity and would change her life forever.
What were the dreams telling her? Where would the next dream lead her? What was her family hiding? She had to know the truth at all cost.
Helplessly, Ella watched her life play out—forcing her to follow a chain of events that would propel her back in time, into a past she couldn’t remember. Follow Ella on her quest to reclaim her forgotten memories, and discover the lies and secrets of her childhood, and the all-consuming need to find a stranger from her past.

Excerpt

I lay in bed wanting to go back to sleep, but afraid to shut my eyes. I didn’t want to think about the dream, and tried to erase the look on Mom’s face from my mind. The look of hurt and disbelief as she kneeled on the floor, gathering the broken dolls and shattered pieces. Her eyes lingered on each doll before placing them gently into a cardboard box. Tears falling on her blouse as she stared at the smashed faces, and torn clothing tossed around the room. I didn’t know what she did with the dolls, I never asked her. I didn’t want to know.
Thinking back, I didn’t just destroy my dolls that day. I felt like I had destroyed Mom. But why were those dolls so important? I buried my face in my pillow, knowing something was seriously wrong and praying to God, “Please help me.”

Forgotten Memories
The author, Bernice Camp of Broken Vessels-Tribute to a Family has written her second book. Forgotten Memories is a good book. It is the story of a young woman who comes to terms with her childhood family secrets and is better for the struggle. There are times in our lives we have to face past issues to get on with the present. This book deals with this manner. Bernice Camp has a gift in developing her characters so you have a sense of knowing them. Forgotten Memories is a 5***** event! I would encourage you to read it yourself.

Forgotten Memories
Author Bernice Camp
I'm usually a fast reader and it is not unusual for me to read several books a day. Occasionally along comes a book that makes me want to slow down and savor every word. Forgotten Memories is that type of book. Author Bernice Camp sent this book to me in manuscript form. Her writing is clean, clear and uncomplicated. Forgotten Memories is narrated by Ella the lead character. Camp allows you to delve into the real Ella, a social worker with a kind and loving heart. Ella has a love interest, David. While their relationship is interesting it isn't the focus of this story. Ellen is Ella’s mother, at first appearance she is cold and rude but after you learn more of the story you find sympathy for her. Ella is surrounded by people that love and care about her, Mr. Hart and the amazing Mrs. Tyler. I was particularly struck by the relationship between Ella and her former teacher.
For a year dreams have plagued Ella's sleep. She reaches out to her former teacher, Mrs. Tyler whom she feels she can trust. With Mrs. Tyler's support Ella searches for the answers that evade her. Like putting together a jigsaw puzzle the pieces fit together one piece at a time. Her mother is not forthcoming with answers to any of Ella's questions. Eventually the truth comes to light.
I liked the way the relationship between Ella and Ellen developed. All in all I think Camp has a winner. I give FORGOTTEN MEMORIES 4 STARS ****
