Excerpt

First you hear just the regular sound of traffic speeding up and bang you hear the crash of metal and glass and tires squealing. As with a crash at rush hour in a city there are several other cars involved. Jason and Andrew both have their seat belts on and their car comes to rest against another car on a grassy curb. All of the traffic is held up now and several people not involved head to the scene. The car that caused the crash is now resting just behind Jason’s car and there is steam and smoke coming from the badly mangled hood. The driver has his head rammed against the steering wheel and the horn is blaring. You can smell the acrid stench of rubber and car motors overheating. The car that was hit by the mustang had its driver thrown half way out through the passenger window, which was rolled up. Andrew and Jason are still sitting in their car with the air bags protruding out. Now you can hear the sound of sirens and the police arrive first. They are quickly followed by the ambulance and fire truck, soon after another ambulance arrives and the emergency personnel begin their work. The driver who caused the incident is pronounced dead. Soon Jason and Andrew are removed from the wreckage and taken by two separate ambulances to a local hospital. Jason is in a coma but Andrew is very much awake when they arrive at the hospital.
