Spanning three decades, the offspring of the late George Bender will take you down the rocky roads of their past and present: you will be moved every which way as you grasp their very different philosophies on, love, life, and family.

Nyall, is a mean bully, and has been, all his life. You will feel the hate, fester, in the man, for both his younger brother, Jake, whom he has a special fondness for tormenting, and his savvy sister, Jenny, whom, he despises.

Unlike, Nyall, Jake is a passive and forgiving soul, but a coward when it comes to his brother. Then tragedy of the worst measure, suddenly strikes his life. The aftermath of this monstrous misfortune will unexpectedly define, all of their destinies. Come follow them on their brooding quests as each, through vastly different perspectives will seek to define their own: One, to a degree, that will leave you weak with anguish.

Bender's Quest
Sibling Rivalry, Run Amok…
The three children of George & Margaret Bender find themselves on a turbulent search for what each perceives as fulfillment.

Nyall, the oldest of the brood has always been a bully who regards his younger siblings with sinister contempt. Shamelessly, he continues to throw his weight around trying to undermine and intimidate them.

Genevieve is headstrong and confident; at eighteen she entered into a loveless marriage if for no other reason then to escape the reputation, her own brother, had ruthlessly created for her. Moving far away, she finds life good, but lacking.

Jake is the youngest. As a child he was a frail, Mama’s boy, who grew up in the shadows of his two older siblings.

Growing into a man, much like the boy, he’d learn to both hate and fear his older brother, who even now would do anything to make Jake’s life a living hell.

His only hope for survival, Jake believes, is to avoid Nyall at all costs.

Unlike Nyall, Jake is a passive and forgiving soul, but a coward when it comes to his brother. Then, without warning, tragedy of the worst measure suddenly strikes his life. The aftermath of this monstrous misfortune will unexpectedly define all of their destinies. Come follow them on their brooding quests as each, through vastly different perspectives will seek to define their own: One, to a degree, that will leave you weak with anguish.

This book will rattle your emotions: from laugher to tears, to utter shock.

It's all inside.

Excerpt

“Howdy folks,” Sheriff Willis said to the older couple. “I heard about the
terrible misfortune out in Nevada; give my condolences to the family, won’t you?”
“I’ll do that,” the older man replied.
“Say, whatcha doing there, anyway, Jake?” the sheriff then asked.
“Oh, me and Martha were just feeding the snappers,” Jake told him as he
tossed another sausage link into the small pond.
“You’re feeding the turtles sausage links?”
“Phipps’s Finest…” Jake replied while holding up the red and blue package.
“Boy, I wish I had your money,” the sheriff said grinning. “Wasting good
food on a bunch of old leather shells.”
“No, it’s not like that at all,” Jake told him. “You see, Sheriff, these links went bad…”
