Jamie rolled out of bed and began looking for his lucky purple socks. Jamie sniffed. Something smelled great. French toast. It was going to be a very goodday.
“Can I have ten pieces, Mom? I’m starved!”
“Let’s start with four and see how you do,” said Mom.
Jamie seized the strawberry syrup and poured on a big squiggle. “Mom,
where do I go to buy a dream?”
“You can’t buy a dream, Jamie.”
“But Mom, you said I could do anything I believed I could do.”
“So I did,” said Mom. “Well, seeing is believing. Maybe you should ask your
teacher.”
Jamie nodded. Miss Mapleleaf knew everything.
