Excerpt
This book is intended for desperate people who have reached the end of their rope and are willing to try anything. You may have already found that the doctors couldn’t help, the psychics were wrong, the stars made you even more confused, crystals didn’t pulsate in your hands and the shamans, channelers and kahunas told you things you didn’t understand. Perhaps many of you were raised in Christian homes but felt like it missed the mark. You’ve tried every cure for your physical, emotional and spiritual ailments but have still come up empty.
If someone had told me when I was in my twenties that I would become a born again Christian, I would have thought they had gone crazy. I despised the religious fanaticism and condemnation that I saw in the Christianity I grew up with. During my quest to find myself, I studied, among other religions, Buddhism, Islam, Jehovah’s Witness and Latter Day Saints. I had the honor of being kicked out of EST and Silva Mind Control for poisoning the would-be converts with my cynicism. I was told that I was incapable of making it.
It was only when I got into the Word at age thirty-six and began to examine the Bible for its historical accuracy and prophecies that I began to understand the truth about Christianity. To my surprise, it wasn’t about condemnation. The Bible says, “…there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1,NASB) True Christianity is about the power of love and the simple majesty of forgiveness that brings healing to our lives. This is the kingdom within that pastors often talk about. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that enables us to do “all things through Christ which strengtheneth” us. (Philippians 4:13,KJ) We have always had the power. We only need to learn how to tap into the power source by entering into the kingdom of God through Jesus Christ.
The gospel, or good news, of Jesus Christ is simple in comparison to organized religion. Interestingly, religion is a Greek word meaning, to bind. People mess up the simplicity of the gospel with rules so burdensome that Christians often resemble the Pharisees who condemned our Lord to the cross. The gospel of Jesus is that He loves us and we are forgiven all of our sins through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Accept His love and enter into the circle of His love. This is where you will find the kingdom of God that has always been available to us through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We journey through life trying to find ourselves when the answer has always been right there within us.
The Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father author this book. All honor and glory to the Holy Trinity. Thank you for the gifts and calling of God that are without repentance. Amen.
