This is a step-by-step instructions on planning for, preparing for and experiencing the results of the walk.
Your Sacred Contract has “choice points” or moments that we are given free will to make choices. These include moments that are directly related to our relationships in life. Relationships are the basis of our learning. They are the dynamics of our energetic contracts. We learn, we heal, we savor relationships. Yet, we also have the choice point of rescripting relationships; even the relationships with the great family.
Rescripting a relationship so that it aligns with your integrity, with your ethical values, is a conscious effort to change the way you interact in life. It can awaken you to new possibilities.
First look at your patterns that have been revealed during your walk. Look back at your ideal relationship description. Does it match your ethical values still? Does your body language change when you read them? Ask yourself if it is a type of person that causes you to abandon your ethics? Does a certain type of relationship pattern cause your tense? Smile? As you discover deeper relationship patterns that cause you to tense and write out once more the way you could shift your reaction to cause peace rather than tense energy.
Relationships clearly reveal to us our true motivations and unconscious beliefs. We must see them simply as patterns if we wish to rescript them.
Many times we will see the victim appear in relationships, blame rears its head. She made me feel--- when she ------. This type of statement is a sign post that we need to shift. Another example, we see another struggling with dieting and we unconsciously taunt them by eating succulent deserts in front of them rather than supporting them. We do this, we think in good humor, but it is really an unconscious need to destroy a relationship.
Ask in your journal:
What is the most common theme in all your relationships?
Where are you still experiencing strong emotions of control, jealousy, judgment or criticism?
Do you find that others are avoiding intimate relationships with you?
How is your relationship with the material world – money for example?
Take the answers to these base questions to journey, meet with your Divine Team and ask how you might rescript the contract to shift in alignment with your ethics.
Remember that in all things there are four stages of sacred contracts
1. Separation – this is where we want the easy way out – we ask that someone be removed rather than doing the work to shift ourselves. Another way to determine if this is where are “If I find/have ____ then I will be ____”. This type of statement is always a sign post we are in separation stage (remember the alchemical lesson from Fire In The Soul).
2. Dark Night of the Soul – this is where you feel lost, ungrounded, and even abandoned. You can’t hear or believe in your Divine Team. You believe that you are in crisis. It will come right smack dab in the middle of the most joyous occasion. You suddenly feel catastrophic emotions. Here you want to look closely at your daily spiritual practice. I have found it is rarely what you are doing but rather what you are not doing that leads to this stage. So what have you stopped doing?
3. Light – this is where the light returns. We become joyous once more that the dark has been lifted. Again remember the alchemical lesson. We sometimes stop here because it feels a thousand times better than the dark night. But it is not the end.
4. Appreciation – this is where we want to be. This is the state of humble appreciation for all things. It is the practice of gratitude.
So as you go to your Divine Team to rescript your contract, be sure to know where you are in your journey. Don’t ask for things to change if you are not willing to change yourself.
