The Books By Author Keven Christopherson

Josh and Trent are finally on the camping trip they have been dreaming about all year when they receive a visit from a mysterious old Indian. Because of their kindness, they are given the clues to an ancient hidden treasure. With the help of Josh's sister Jennifer and her friend Shasta, and all the luck they can muster, they use all of their skills as pilots and rock climbers to try and solve the mystery, in spite of the forces of nature that are conspiring against them, and a mysterious deadly Indian warrior that could be ghost or flesh. The clues to the treasure change their summer vacation into high adventure and extreme danger. Will they find the treasure before their luck runs out?

Excerpt

Josh turned his gyro toward the face of the cliff to swing around the other way and slammed the stick back in his lap to stop. There, straight in front of him, was a small hole, about three feet in diameter. There was a narrow ledge leading to it from the dome across the sheer face of the cliff. He could see that some of it had fallen away, probably due to a past earthquake. Trent saw it too, but just as he started to radio Jennifer....CRASH! Something exploded through the windshield and out the right side, just missing Josh's right leg. Josh slammed the stick to the right and put the gyrocopter into a dive.

"SOMEBODY'S SHOOTING AT US! LET'S GET THE HECK OUT OF HERE!" yelled Josh over the radio. Jennifer rolled her gyrocopter to the left, pushed the stick forward, and dove down across the face of the dome, following the other gyro. They flew down the canyon, twisting and turning to escape any more bullets and finally came out of the mouth of the canyon, far out of range of any rifle.

Someone didn't want them there and had made sure that they knew it, but who? They had been warned about the Dark Apache, first by the old Indian and later by Jeremiah. Was he a ghost or was he real? "It was no ghost that shot at us", thought Josh.

The four treasure hunters didn't say much as they flew home, but they were all wondering the same thing....what would they do next?

Professional Reviews

Adventures of the Sky Kids
Subtitled "Lost Treasure of Kolob Canyon," this is a really easy chapter book that boys seem especially drawn to, as it deals with camping, lost treasures and Indians. This reminded me of the simple books I read when I was a cub scout growing up. Why aren't there more books like this nowadays? I guess I am starting to sound like a reminiscent curmudgeon.
