Chiomara Ruadh, Druidess of Ulster, will not be swayed from prophecy. If the Gods of Ireland request that she couple with the king, so be it. If it is also their wish that he marry another woman, who is Chiomara, a simple Druid, to stand in their way?
Erc Breac, king of the Dal'Raida, can only think of Chiomara. Her beauty is surreal and the tales that follow her across the land unsurpassed. But that is not enough when faced with the obligations of a king. His people must come first. His future wife and queen, Macha, must come first. Yet, fate is a slippery thing. Will Erc risk the whole of his kingdom for what lays in his heart?
The King's Druidess (The MacLomain Series- Prelude), starts out the series. Look for Fate's Monolith (The MacLomain Series- Book 1), Destiny's Denial (The MacLomain Series- Book 2) and Sylvan Mist (The MacLomain Series- Book 3) on Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook and Smashwords.
At armís length, he stopped. "Druidess, you are even lovelier than I remember."
I wish I didnít have to abide by formalities. I wish I could tell you what Iím feeling. She touched his bare chest. His skin felt hot, as if he burned with tightly restrained energy. "Were we not still in macdacht, children when we last met?"
His muscles rippled and his hand covered hers. "We were as you say, but we are grown now. And we are both led to this place at this time."
Thump. Thump. Erc's heart beat strong beneath her fingertips. His heat scorched her blood. "So we meet with one purpose."
He gently pulled back her hood. "I cannot promise you that."
Ercís fingers ran though her hair, sifted through the ebony lengths. Chiomara drifted closer and whispered, "Do they not foretell us coming together for one purpose?"
His words turned sensuous and contemplative. "They do. But what do they know of how I will feel once Iíve tasted you?"
Professional Reviews A Great Read!
"I enjoyed this tale! I love time travels, and I found the spin that Ms. Purington took to be fascinating. From the beginning the book hooks you and pulls you in. I can't wait to read more of this series!" Eliza Knight- Amazon Customer Review
Even Better Than The First
"This book beat the first! Wow, very happy I kept on reading. Honestly, wasn't sure who I was rooting for in this one but I became glued, modern girl, medieval Scot, toss of the coin. Best thing this time, I traveled more throughout medieval Scotland, revisited alot. Two thumbs up, had fun." Tracy T "Traci"- Amazon Customer Review
Another strong MacLomain man
This second book in the series was a very enjoyable read.
The h(Caitlin) has the second ring and is in for a bit of time travel where she will meet her MacLomain hero.
The characters in the story are well described and as in book #1, I had no trouble getting a 'feel' for them.
The story held my attention all the way through.
I am now ready to see who has the third ring in book #3.
