FloppyFlowers: Time is changing. The global world is changing from the Guttenberg-galaxies, the high tech revolution re-organize our life and with smaller-bigger opposition we expect it. There are new ways to store information. One of the most common information storage is the floppy disk, that soon much higher techniques will follow. One fl oppy disk can storage 1,44 MB information, means that a middle sized Dosztojevszkij fit on it. A book shipping can be uncomfortable, but a floppy disk fit in a narrow pocket, so it is very practical. It is light, has no special smell and has no cultural history. The floppy disk has no vanity, easily can end up in the garbage, not as a book. (But sometimes the book end up in fire and the censor-writers warmed next to it and dreamed about the perfect future).
Interesting, the computer and their rounding just slowly spread between the designers. Szechy's work at the Ludwig Museum prove that the floppy can be personal and be part of the visual world: on the floppies she printed flowers. So, the floppy function has changed from a digital information to an object.
This work is at the same time bitter and happy. It is not bland, not obtrusted, and not just an idea. (Ludwig Museum 07-09/16, 2001)
