"The Wind Carries His Whisper," is a 31 day devotional written in a very 'common sense' easy to understand and grasp approach to the Word of God.

Many times we are so preoccupied with hearing the voice of the Lord that we waste countless hours waiting for the loud rush of His voice when in all actuality all we have to do is be very receptive of even His faintest whisper.

The Wind Carries His Whisper

I have always desired to know the Lord more and more intimately and to be able to share His heart with all that I come into contact with. I have deep passion for not just writing, but also to be able to portray the Father’s heart in words that touch not only the head but also the heart and spirit.

After the birth of my granddaughter Gracie in 2005, I began to seek the Lord regarding a way to teach His powerful Word in a way not to overwhelm and cause people to think the Bible was hard to understand and confusing as I once did.

During a normal playtime with my young granddaughter I was given revelation of God’s Word put in such a “childlike” manner that even a young one could comprehend it with great understanding and knowledge.

On that day .."The Wind Carries His Whisper..." was birthed, right there in the yard under that beautiful southern sky. What I’ve learned from writing these inspirations is the fact that most time we are listening for a ‘loud’ voice when we wish to hear the Lord and all we have to do is be receptive of the faintest whisper.

Day 3

ARE YOU THIRSTY?

Psalm 42:2, “My soul thirst for God.”

Thirst:

‘An eager desire; craving; to have a strong desire.’

As water is essential for physical life, so God and His presence are essential for satisfaction and wholeness of life. True believers will hunger and thirst for God and His grace, blessing and supernatural activity in their lives.

To stop thirsting for God is to die spiritually; thus we must not allow anything to diminish our intense desire for the things of God. “Beware of the worries of this life, the pursuit of earthly things and the pleasures that choke out hunger and thirst for God and the desire to seek His face in prayer,” Mark 4:19.

We should pray that our longing for God’s presence might be strengthened. Our love for the full manifestation of the Holy Spirit might be greater and our passion to see the fullness of Christ’s kingdom and righteousness might be deepened until we cry out to Him day and night in a heart felt thirst, even as the deer “pants for streams of water” in times of drought so should our heart thirst for and continue to be thirsty for the Lord and His presence.

As you rest quietly and seek His face and not just His hands His fresh waters flow from the Throne of Grace upon you and cleanse, strengthen, refresh and bless you in ways that nothing you’ve ever come into contact with in this earthly life. Stress is gone, fear is gone, fatigue is gone even the hunger for food is gone! Next time you get thirsty remember there is no limit to the amount of time or fresh oil you may request!

The One who loves you is always faithful to replenish whatever is needed, whenever, to whom ever. Drink deep!

Dear Father God, even the most seasoned warriors need time to drink from the fountain we call Your Spirit. Help us to come to You as our soul is thirsty and not seek comfort from worldly things. Ingrain in our spirit the desire to never be without a thirst and hunger for You.

Amen.
