"Delinquent," a novel by Aaron Shigley. Fiction, 252 p. Saturated in sarcasm, humorous situations, and dialogs with dark undertones.
"Delinquent" is set in (Auburn, NE) Southeastern Nebraska, in the late 80's. It is a twisted tale that examines the life of a young boy and the psychological nature of the modern day American family that is anything but June & Ward Cleaver or a witty little TV sitcom. It is an obscure coming of age story that is anything but predictable with an ever changing plot that will keep you wanting more. The story begins in the fall of 1987 when the boy murders his mother and father. He only finds more trouble after the Barny Fife police department sweep the homicide under the rug and do little looking into the situation, so that they can quickly restore the "All American" home town pride.
"Sometimes the truth isn't good enough. Sometimes people don't believe in the truth, so you have to tell some little lies so they'll begin to believe you."
