Thirty six years ago, Adria Manary was in the first grade. Catherine Burnett was her caring and memorable teacher. Now they have come together to compile an exquisite array of poems that will touch the hearts of all generations and generations to come.
Two different generations of wisdom and talent have joined together to write a book that covers every topic from spirituality to fun and from mothering to haiku.
I Wish I Was An Angel
I wish I was an angel
To tame the world at hand,
I would lay my finger on the lips
Of many in command.
Who rant and rave to hear their voice
With often not a clue,
Of what it takes to soothe the souls
Of those they're preaching to.
I would soften hearts of hardened souls
Give courage to the meek,
Lift the veil of anger
Empower voices of the weak.
I would set the spirits free of those
Who suffer day by day,
I would encourage all the "grown-ups"
To take some time to play.
I would brighten hearts of those who grieve
And make them understand,
That life here is just a moment -
Soon they'll hold their loved one's hand.
But for now I'm only human
What is it I can do?
I can call upon my angel
To lend help to me and you.
