Excerpt
Prologue

In the Seventeenth century, a noblemanís daughter named Irena Nosova was tired of her fatherís dictatorship; she rebels against a prearranged marriage. Irena was in love with a German Lord named Yule Lawson, who was more than your run of the mill nobility. Yule is a wealthy landowner, and has only one downside in society he was not pure in breeding his mother Nicolette was born of African descent, and traded into service. Yules mother spent many nights in her lordships bedchambers producing an heir.
The earl Arthur Stewart Lawson would not hear of disposing of the child and does the unspeakable, and marries his mistress becoming an outcast in society. Yule received the finest education money could buy. He attends only the top-notch schools, and introduced into society at the age of fifteen. Life for Yule was much easier with his fatherís backing. In 1787 Yule turns twenty-one enlists into Catherine the Greats army.
He was a killing machine on the battlefield no man would dare face him, unless forced. In 1792, five years later Yule returns from the war a decorated soldier with high honors, and society ignores his breeding. Yule never married his first love Irena Nosova, but a young woman named Anastasia Mellon. Eight years later their union produced one son named Oden Lionel Lawson. Yule and wife Anastasia leave Bremen Germany to live in peace in Liverpool England.
Yule used his wealth to purchase lands in Liverpool and London, he and wife Anastasia are welcome into the Le bon ton also known as high society (Ton), becoming one of the favorite couples among many. He uses his wits and influence to support the King in war ventures receiving even more titles to land. Yule took advantage of his wealth and builds homes for tenants, and provides them with jobs working his lands. It was a life of privilege for the Lawson family, and his son Oden receives a strict upbringing as Earl of Lawson Castle.
His daily routine consists of fencing, reading literatures from Aristotle, and other scholars. He attends Military school, fluent in Russian, English, French and Danish. His mind was a sponge absorbing information at an accelerated pace. At Twenty seven Oden had travel the world spending time in Italy and France, Oden is a skilled artist by trade, and his paintings praised for capturing the soul of his subjects.

Confessions of a Diabolical Lover
Personal Review June 26, 2012
By Carol Langstroth
Format:Kindle Edition
In Confessions of a Diabolical Lover by Dorothy Cosey. We are in the seventeenth century where Lord Oden Lawson is a troubled man because while sleeping with a servant Inez, he realizes he loves her and cannot marry her due to what society would think. As he seeks to find a suitable woman to marry, he can't seem to get his mind off Inez. During this time his cousin Lady Victoria Mellon is staying with him due to the fact she was molested by an Earl whom she is supposed to marry. Will Lord Oden find a acceptable wife or will he get the courage to marry Inez and why does Lady Victoria want to stay with Oden?

Dorothy Cosey's Confessions of a Diabolical Lover has a remarkable romantic theme set in the Seventeenth Century in England, where nobility was very important. You see in your mind how people in the Seventeenth Century thought and acted. I felt it was extremely well written with and there were no problems with grammar and the characters came alive with the dialog that Mrs. Cosey wrote. The climax was one that I was not expected and I commend Mrs. Cosey on such a interesting ending. Confessions of a Diabolical Lover is not your run of a mill historical romance by any means and this reviewer highly recommends this novel.
