Magical Visitor
(Indian Paintbrush)
Summer monsoons arrive.
Soaking the ground with sweet moisture.
Special seed awakens underground.
Stretches and unfurls.
Seeking the sun above.
Satisfying success suddenly occurs.
Leaves elongate and strengthen.
Life looms large.
Loving the new friends around her.
Letting the day unfold as it will.
Laughter bubbling inside.
Learning as she goes.
Strong plant shows promise.
Sudden yearning begins.
Sweet innocent senses change.
Slowly buds burst open.
Silky bees drop by to train her.
Such a beautiful addition she’s become.
Petals painted in bright tangerine and gold.
Point toward the sun like bristles in a paintbrush.
Pushed by the breeze they silently move.
Pirouetting to a soft tune of her very own.
Painting the colors of the coming sunset.
Preparing the sun for its priceless performance.
