Frankie Mae is the true, undiscovered love of one of the world's greatest entertainers...Guess who! Now, we must decide is it fact or fiction.

THE LOVE HE SAVED
about the book
Frankie Mae Tyson from Gary, Indiana always believed that one day she would meet and fall in love with her teen idol Michael Jackson, the world’s legendary “King of Pop.”
An avid fan of the entertainer, Frankie Mae left high school over a fight about the entertainer. Years later, when she actually meets the superstar on a crowded Santa Monica freeway…Frankie never doubted this dream would come true. The surprise is she learns that she is the girl that Michael Jackson has been searching for.
For over twenty-years the entertainer and the girl from the ghetto keep their love a secret. Working as a Security Guard – no matter what Frankie Mae does to hide her love affair with Michael Jackson – traces of his involvement with his understated love began to evolve more and more. The two lovers are determined to keep their love a secret as Frankie suffers all of Michael’s public woes privately.
In the end – Frankie fulfills Michael’s wish to let him go and write about the love he saved.
This incredible love fantasy is a gem any Michael Jackson fan can relate to. You will laugh and have fun reading, Carol Denise Mitchell’s, “The Love He Saved.”

THE LOVE HE SAVED BOOK REVIEW
Earns Bay Area Writer Five Stars!
Hello Carol,

5 stars, congratulations!!

Frankie Mae was in love. She loved Michael Jackson for as long as she could remember. She’d always dreamed of meeting him and then one day while driving down the Santa Monica freeway, 20-year old Frankie saw a large flashy limousine. There wasn’t a doubt in her mind it was Michael Jackson. They flirted as they drove down the highway.

Frankie Mae had never been a popular girl. In school the boys had made fun of her. Jackson saw her in a different light. He cared about her. He loved her. She had self-confidence after meeting Jackson.

Frankie was only fifteen years old when her father married a classmate and deserted her and her mother. Her twin brothers were successful attorneys living and practicing law in Atlanta. Her mother tried to warn her to stop obsessing about Michael Jackson. Frankie had a baby to take care of and she had another but she still dreamed of Michael Jackson.

For over 20 years they had a love affair. Being Michael’s girl meant knowing when to cuss. Frankie recounts one time when she, Michael, his agent had dinner at the Four Seasons hotel in San Francisco, California. Michael never ate pork. The agent had ordered pork. Frankie kindly told the waitress “remove the pork from the talk bitch.” The agent objected to the language. He corrected Frankie in front of Michael. Michael quickly set him straight, leaving no doubts his love for the ghetto rat. When Frankie’s mother died, Michael escorted her to the funeral in front of a stunned crowd.

Frankie is quick to defend Michael. She knows he was not a child molester. “I wished as I watched this interview that I could show the world what a great father Michael Jackson had been to my kids for years now. He had provided for them. He had changed diapers when my youngest boy was a baby. He made sure the kids were first in our relationship.”

Michael and Frankie were careful to keep their relationship a secret from Oprah and the world. “I was proud of him anyway, as I was stunned to see the determination of opportunists and the media to bring Michael Jackson down.”

“When you love a man as much as I love Michael, death can be a surreal thing to go through. I am not going to take my life; I am going to live my life in memory of Michael Jackson. I am not worried, for he knows that I will be with him one day as I promised.”

****
When I began reading The Love He saved, I looked back to see if it was based on fact. This book is a work of fiction yet it reads like nonfiction! Frankie’s language bothered me a bit at first. It leans toward street slang. However, the language is necessary for it helps define the character. While on the surface author Carol Denise Mitchell appears to be writing about Jackson, this book is actually a character study of Frankie.

I see two options in this book:

1. Frankie Mae actually met Jackson and had a relationship with him for many years. After all he was a unique character and always did unusual, unexpected ways.

2. Frankie Mae was so obsessed with Jackson that she spent years day dreaming about him. In her mind they actually had a relationship.

I suspect the author will be pleased that she had me guessing and analyzing this much. Frankie Mae’s obsession for Jackson makes the most plausible part of this plot. Carol Mitchell is a talented author and her characters are very life-like. Remember the name Carol Denise Mitchell.
