The Goddess Book of Psalms has been heralded by many in the pagan community, leading one reader to comment, "it enriched my devotion and love for the Goddess manifold."
Awaken your spirituality with words you've always known, now composed in psalm format, that will echo the depth of your devotion to the Goddess. As any dedicant knows, repetition of the words used in worship, regardless of the feeling behind them, can lead to a robotic performance of what was once meaningful and reverent prayer. The poetic spirit in these psalms will resound in your soul, granting a new vision of your veneration, a fresh approach to your communion with the deity of your choice.
Excerpt
I was but a child and the Goddess found me;
She found my wandering soul and gave it a pathway.
I was adrift in a sea of lies when She found me.
She whispered to me “Heed them not, but come to the wood”.
There She told me of the ancient ones, the teachers of children like me,
the mothers of all that is and all that ever will be.
In the wood She held my hand and danced with me until I fell to the ground,
then She showed me the power, deep in the earth, waiting for children to grasp, to make their own.
She taught me the song that She wrote for me,
She sings it with me as we dance.
She told me Her secret name, that only I may call Her.
I was but a child and the Goddess found me;
I am no longer a child, but a daughter of the Mother.
I dance in the wood with my sisters:
we sing in the wood to Her - we sing in the wood of Her wonder.
She is the womb from which we all tumbled;
She is the tomb into which we will swoon;
when the song runs out and the dance is ended.
