Excerpt
Do you use your mind, or does it use you? If someone came up to you on the street and told you that you need to make sure you worry a lot about money today, would you do it because he said to? Well, you might as well if you allow your mind to dictate what you think about. If you worry about money, your job, your looks, your past, your future, you are letting your mind run your life. Many of us unconsciously allow our minds to tell us what we should focus on. We have become the mind’s piñata, bounced around like a toy by our thoughts. That is because many of us have untrained minds. You must first recognize that your mind tells you what to do. Then, you can begin to do something about what it tells you. Incessant, uncontrolled thought—allowing your mind to “have its way with you” day in and day out—is the source for worry, fear, and anxiety. It’s also the reason that you don’t accomplish your dreams, and why you attract negative events into your life. If you take back your mind and learn to control your thinking, you can become the master of your thoughts. Once you accomplish this, worry and fear vanish, and peace and confidence flow in. Then you can move toward getting the life you want.
