poems contained within are in three categories(spiritual, contemporary, and erotic)

This debut book of poetry consists of three categories(spiritual, contemporary, and erotic), it covers many aspects of life that we experience at one point or another in our lives, whether it's religion, love, betrayal, tragedy, grief, comfort, or self worth. Having a positive outlook on life ushering in the belief and confidence that success is within our grasp and when tragedy strikes, even in the midst of all the turmoil, having the faith that one day the trouble will pass and the rainbow will once again shine bright in our lives, knowing that our tears are the down payment in this game called life that will elevate us to that level of success, humility, and faith. We are our brother's keeper and in treating one another with dignity and respect we can in essence put some honey on it.....thank you for taking a trip through this mind that i've been blessed with and enjoy the ride.

The book is available in two formats

Paperback: ISBN 9781434327239

Although I've sinned many a time, you still loved me
Forgave me my faults and gave me the blueprint to eternity
To live an abundant life instead of a life of crime
You still loved me, although I've sinned many a time

I hear him say; to your family don't be a disgrace
UBNICE, be strong in the grace
Observe your surroundings and continue to pray
To your family don't be a disgrace, I hear him say

You are not alone, dry your eye
I'll comfort you so don't you cry
I'll deliver you from the trauma zone
Dry your eye, you are not alone

I stand before you, in awe of your grace
Humble and grateful as I run this race
For your love is so genuinely true
In awe of your grace, I stand before you

Windy City streets
Danger in the air
Shots fired! Shots fired!
Now silence and despair

There my friend lay
At the curb, lungs collapsed facing death
Rushing to his side to comfort him
While he fights for his next breath

61st and Calumet Ave
Next to King Drive was the spot
Until I got jumped by five disciples
And they were hot

Monsters of the Midway
Ringing so true
Got caught in the stairwell
Now what am I to do?

I took one out
But the other four slew
Now I'm lying in the hallway
Face beaten black and blue

No longer frozen
It's time to thaw
Was neutral and mellow
Now it's time to get raw

Black Is The Color

Black is the color
that you was born into
to make your mark
and shed some light through
the misery of failed relationships
and its shadow of death
performing CPR
for that next breath
of new beginnings
and a new love
one that’s heaven sent
from the corridors of time up above
one who will appreciate you
and your wicked black thighs
and be mesmerized by
your beautiful ebony eyes
so speak life
and stay on track
for love is color blind
and its deeper than black
