It’s possible to stay thin past 30... 40... 50. I'm doing it. Now you can too!
Iím not a doctor or a nutritionist. I donít work for a weight-loss clinic or a fitness company. Iím not trying to sell you anything. I am just an ordinary, middle-aged woman who has managed to lose the weight I needed to lose and then keep it off. I am living the thin life, and itís a great life! I donít feel self-conscious like I used to when I was carrying around those extra pounds. Now I have the confidence to enjoy life as Iíve always wanted to.
Over the years, Iíve read just about every diet book and visited every diet website I could find, looking for ways to successfully maintain my ideal weight with a minimum of sacrifice. Iíve experimented with lots of ideas, and discovered that some but not all of them work for me. Iíve learned how to adapt all that information and advice to fit my own individual lifestyle and personality. And I think thatís the secret - to be willing to try out new recipes, exercises, and motivation strategies. Then I discard the ones that donít work for me and add the ones that do work to my regular routine. Over time, these strategies become habits. I donít feel like Iím on a diet, but rather that I have a lifetime eating plan...
In this book, I will help you identify your own unique motivators to keep you on track, develop a food plan that fits into your lifestyle, and build an exercise program that you can stick with. You will end up with a personalized system that will allow you to stay at a healthy weight for the rest of your life. I have researched tips from many diet experts and looked at the many rules they provide. While I agree that a lot of the tips make sense and will work for most people, I also believe that every person is different and you sometimes need to break the rules and make up your own rules.
A Realistic Plan for Life
I read this book and thought ďFinally, a diet book for ME.Ē Itís no gimmicks, no grapefruit diet or cabbage soup diet. Itís all about understanding your own personal motivators and pitfalls, and then developing a plan (based on tons of tips she provides) that works for you. Itís realistic and is more about creating a plan for life, instead of a short-term diet that only leads to yo-yoing. I think itís great and Iím sure you will too, whether youíre trying to lose weight or just maintain it.
I Am Lion - Hear Me Roar!
I am always trying to eat less, exercise more - something. So I loved the tips that this book and website have. The recipes and downloadable forms are great to help keep you on track - if nothing else to make you think about what you are eating. And I loved finding out my eating personality...apparently I am a lion...roaaar! Which means I need a high protein low carb diet plan. Interesting! Which one are you?
I found the book to be filled with helpful suggestions that would fit into everyone's daily lifestyle. It's laid out nicely and you'll enjoy learning about how Elle Meyer did it herself and is now here to help the rest of us along.
We all want to lose some more weight, right? I have found with the help of this book that it can be done. It's not really hard either - you just need to make up your mind and start making those good daily choices every day and repeat over and over again. One of the recipes I tried was Breaded Salmon and it was absolutely delicious. My kids even thought I had deep fried it because the panko breadcrumbs stuck to the Salmon so nicely.
So go check her book out and join me in this plan to eat healthier and hopefully lose some weight once and for all.
