I live in the foothills of the Ozarks among the beauty Mother Nature offers here. My poetry and prose appear in literary magazines, anthologies, and online venues. I savor the writing of poetry as an essential path to living creatively, and firmly believe the writing process grants me an excellent quality of life.
A First Love
Across the road toward a grassy meadow in the park
For a quick game of spin the bottle
I hustle, twisting the cigar-band
Ring the neighbor boy gave me last night as he
Sat cross-legged on my front porch
Teasing me about my red hair
Laughing at my spindly legs, my
Overabundance of freckles, my
Voluble voice and my knock-knees that
Even now brush each other as they carry me toward first love.
