As Hatshepsut, I knew all hermetic secrets that the priests, even in the House of Life knew. I had studied all of the manuscripts of magic. I had bribed many to learn all of this knowledge. I had to protect myself at all times from my enemies. I had to gain power for myself and then for my people. I even knew how these priests fooled others by creating a staff into a snake. The staff was simply a snake who had been drugged to remain stiff, because of how much sleeping potion they gave it. They knew at what exact moment the snake would awake. Such a simple act of theater magic that mesmerized so many and held their minds captive.
