A New Life

Amy Tassin won the vacation of a lifetime, all expenses paid! No time-clocks, demanding customers and aching feet. Just her, the sun, and the surf.

Now throw in the awesome business exec standing across the deck from her and she’s got herself a dream vacation come true.

Assassin Jordan Grayson needed a ruse and he spotted exactly what he needed the moment he saw her. Beautiful but unsophisticated, innocent and gullible. She made the perfect alibi for him to poise as a vacationer, maybe too perfect.

And when Jordan disappeared after a foreign diplomat was killed on U.S. soil, the F.B.I. have only one choice left, Amy.

Excerpt

Everything was all set up. The small pinky ring that contained a couple drops of the lethal poison he needed sat and waited in a locker by the beach. Tomorrow he would disembark with Amy and head first to the beach. From there, he would shop and bedazzle her and offer to take her to dinner. He thought about her and a flicker of guilt cut through him. Strange, he’d never felt guilty before. Props and a means to an end, that’s all his marks ever were. He looked out over the ocean and sighed. He was getting old, to numb and bitter. It was time to quit and go back to his day job. He felt as dead inside as the people he was assigned to terminate.

A pair of brown eyes filled with pain and shock flashed through his memories as silent screams echoed through his thoughts. Screams of the innocent dying. Screams of those he was powerless to protect. He swirled the amber liquid around in his glass. The memories may not have faded, but the rage that fueled him on, has. Will he ever be able to forget?

He thought of those violet eyes flashing up at him with laughter and innocence; maybe, just maybe for a little while.
