Lost In Existence

Excerpt 1:  The Tragedy

“Lena!” ReNee yelled “We gotta swim...and fast!”   “I want Scott!” Nalene yelled. ReNee turned to begin to swim, holding on to Nalene was much as she could.
As they swam, a loud suction noise almost like a vacuum sounded off. It was even more displeasing than the siren that she was sure would return.
The pier was about 30 feet away . If they swam hard and fast, they could make it. ReNee kept her eyes on it, when water wasn’t in them, as her prize. Her goal.
27 feet. Now 25 feet away. They were doing it.
Just as she got exited, she felt a strong tugging at her body, and went under the water.
She fought her way back up, forced to let go of Nalene.
When she got back up, she was terrified. What could have done that? And so rapidly? As she looked at Nalene, they started to move in a circular motion.    They reached for each other, and grabbed each others hands. “Don’t let me go!” Nalene pleaded, lips shivering. “I don’t wanna die like this”   “I won’t!” ReNee yelled back, spitting out water. “Come on, we gotta-“   She was sucked down under the water again, this time, with Nalene. The deeper under the went, the faster they spun in circles. Together, they kicked their way back up, only to then be separated by a large rush of water from underneath. ReNee fell back onto her side of the massive amount of water, and swam away, as it reached about the height of 6 feet, knowing it would crash down.   She watched as the water stood, in its majesty, ready to fall at any moment.   It took about 20 seconds, but the water fell, forcing her backward.
It hit her so hard in her face, she flew backward and hit her head on the still water. Although it was liquid, it felt like she’d hit her head on concrete.
She laid back, feeling the cool of the sea on the back of her cranium, eyes flickering. She fought the sudden exhaustion she felt, but her eyes gave in, rolled to the back of her head, and everything turned black, as she slipped into unconsciousness.

Excerpt 2: Will love ever?....

.” Angel's tone was confident. Sure. As if she knew the answers to the questions that plagued him for all these years. “You know how long I’ve waited to hear someone say that?” he asked, eyes welting slightly.   She smiled and looked over her shoulder at him.   “She’s just lost. Scott. Lost in Existence.”    “Will we ever find each other again?”    He felt like a child asking the person reading him his bedtime story, to tell him the end result of the book. But she was easing his load....unknowingly....relating to his belief that Nalene was alive, and not labeling his belief as “desperate” or “ludicrous” as most people had done. “Always” She turned and softly kissed his forehead, and turned back around to watch nature pass their eyes. “Always.” she emphasized. He grabbed her waist, and held her tightly, inhaling the natural freshness of her body. She took a deep breath, cracked the whip, and the horse began to run.

Excerpt 3:  Passion, like before

....Without warning, he parted her legs, and she felt his tongue deep inside her. She let out an unintentional, yet passionate moan, and grabbed the back of his head with her hands. He seemed to be inhaling her, lips and tongue all around her, and it became evident that he once was a happily married man. As he pleasured her, and she began to feel her body shake, she attempted once to pull away. But he wanted her. Right where she was, so he wrapped his arms around her inner thighs, pulled her all the way into him, and held her in that position. What was really seconds, seemed like minutes as Angel’s body began to react, and high pitched moans escaped her lips.   She again attempted to move away, but the way he had her legs thrown over his shoulders, and locked into his arms made it clear that he didn't intend on her going anywhere. She could feel it coming. The moment she wouldn’t be able to hold back anymore, and she gripped the sheets as he gently maneuvered her back and forth. “Oh...yea.....like that..”         He listened to her verbal commands, but obeyed her body's commands, and slipped his finger back inside her..This time with ease. She formed a small puddle on his sheets. Now it was time for him to feel what he had desired for what seemed so long.......

Except 4:.  The beginning of change

...As the car in front of his truck sped off, his eyes shifted as they immediately were caught by a horrific site. A truck lay about 20 feet away, almost completely turned over onto its back. He gasped as he saw a hand waving from inside. He looked ahead and beside him, and saw people driving by, looking, but not stopping. No one was attempting to help. He made a sharp left turn, and threw his truck in park, about 10 feet away from the totaled vehicle.   He grabbed his phone off the passenger seat, and dialed 9-1-1.      “Yes, we need an ambulance on the 234 West. Has there already been a call?”   “Is it at an exit?”    “No. Not far though.”    “Then no, no ones called.”     “Well, the closest one is Steelmead. I just passed it about a mile back.” The woman’s voice screeched again.   “Help me please!” She screamed. The sound was terrifying, and his heart began to pound. He rolled down the window and yelled. “I’m getting help.” The woman on the phone came back on. “Sir?”   “Yea, I gotta go. I think she’s hurt.”     “Okay, sir, do not go to the vehicle as it may explode.”    “If it does, I have my son with me. Reno Rogers, and his sister Raja is at school. Their uncle Stevie Rogers is in New York.”   “Okay, sir, it’s not safe to-“     Scott placed the phone down on the passenger seat, and looked at Reno as he slipped his jacket off.    “Daddy loves you.”

Excerpt 5:  Bitter sweet end

And that’s when Scott realized, he’d never again walk into his house, and find her going through his clothes looking for a shirt to wear because she was too lazy to wash her own. Or eat her burned French toast and runny eggs. No more late movie nights, eating ice-cream and popcorn, mixing the two and forcing into each other’s mouths. He’d never get to hear her refer to Dolce and Gabana as “Dol-see and Ga-banna” almost rhyming with banana.
But as he looked at her, he also noticed her eyes were no longer full of pain from a broken abusive past, but with hopes, and dreams.   Her mannerisms were almost the opposite of what they used to be, and she wouldn’t have to risk hurting her new romance with the baggage from the others, because she didn’t have to live with the anxiety and fear of losing anymore. Although it hurt him deeply to know he’d never have his loud, country, round the way friend back, he knew it was better this way. She was finally free.   It was almost as if she’d been given a second chance in this lifetime to live. She was no longer lost in her existence. And as he watched her tilt her head back and laugh without reservation, he realized he was willing to make that sacrifice, and see her that way.
