Bess was delighted with herself and stood in the middle of the field waving her beautiful plume of a tail and then sat down and said, ‘Wasn’t that good? What shall I do next?’
She is still here and is not going to help one of those farmers. The Boss says she loves Bess but she is getting tired, as Bess is so energetic. Nellie says that means she wants to help people all the time and perhaps the Boss doesn’t always want to be helped.
She added, ‘And I certainly hope they never let her help me again unless she gets some lessons first.’
Somehow I don’t think lessons would help. Bess is always sure she knows best.
