Ame Ai, a Washingtonian from the District of Columbia, wrote What Is This, Art Exhibitionistella at the end of 2010. Some of these poems will have similar themes to the prose she has written before, but with more freshness, variety, and conciseness. When she writes of toxic relationships, she does so in a way that makes her poetry powerfully potent. Most of these "poems" are intended to be lyrics and often have repeated choruses and indications of note or note length. In her early works, she shied away from rhyming schemes, preferring free verse. However, in this book, she embraces the power of rhyme, full rhyme and slant rhyme to make her words come to life.
