At this point in my life, I had now become possessed with an overwhelming hunger to know the absolute truth about the workings of the Holy Spirit. This was coupled with a passionate desire to receive all that was possible to receive from God.
Psalm 37:4 encourages us to, "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart." I believe I had truly come to delight in the things of the Lord, but how did I arrive here? What forces were triggering these longings in my heart?
Philippians 2:13 says, "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and do of his good pleasure." The word, will, also means desire, in Greek according to Strong's Concordance #2309.
Think about it, God works in our lives causing us to both desire and do his will. He actually plants his desires within our hearts.
