The year 2116. A pirate ship haunts the oceans. Captain Radomir Lascek is a dare-devil; but he has no idea just how much trouble has boarded his ship with the three Donegal Siblings.
“Yes, pirates,” agreed Federi with a dark grin.
The year is 21 16. Three Irish musicians who are fleeing from the sinister world government, the Unicate, board a trader, the Solar Wind. But that’s where the trouble starts, because the Solar Wind is a pirate ship. Her Captain, sea-devil Radomir Lascek, is going to sail his ship through Panama to break through to the Pacific, come hell or high water. Panama is a death trap, the narrow canal is watched by the Unicate along its whole length. How is the pirate hoping to escape?
But not enough – on the way he sails his crew straight into a beleaguered Hamilton harbour, just to prove a point to the enemy. Trouble - yes, Captain Radomir Lascek is trouble. But not half as much trouble as he has loaded on himself by hiring Shawn, Paean and Ronan Donegal, the three teen musicians who boarded in Dublin...
“Stortebecker,” he said.
“Pirate called Stortebecker. You should ask Sherman about him. Federi can’t tell a story quite the same.”
“Tell me anyway,” pushed Paean.
“Aw, alright. Stortebecker must have been a bit like Captain. This is long ago. In the days before mineral fuels. He and his whole crew got captured by the law, and of course piracy carried the death penalty even then. So Stortebecker negotiated with the government that all of his sailors could go free past whom he could walk after he was dead.”
“That’s dumb,” commented Paean.
“Wait for it,” said the Tzigan. “I said I can’t tell it like Sherman! So they line up his entire crew and chop off his head. Paean, attenţie! He walked past his entire crew with his head chopped off. All of them! Before his dead corpse fell to the ground.”
“Whoa!” commented Paean disbelievingly.
“Is true,” said Federi. “Was a historical figure. Go look it up in the Sher…” He sighed impatiently and stared out to sea. “Go to sleep!”
Paean gaped at him in shock, then she shrugged and left the bridge. Federi glared at the sea some more. In his mind’s eye he saw Captain walking past the Solar Wind’s crew with his head chopped off. Aw hell… and now he’d snubbed the little mockingbird! For what?

"Like gypsy music"
The fast-moving and often surprising action leaves one quite breathless, rather like gypsy music played at a rousing pace. Yet one has time to get to know the characters, so that one can't help but be drawn into their differing mind sets. Interesting how these diverse characters are tied into an intrinsically functioning unit, without the reader even noticing the natural ease with which the author does this. - The book raises some thought-provoking questions and leaves one looking forward to more from the pen of this intriguing author.

This book is a definite must-have for your library. A gripping tale from beginning to end, with characters so vividly described and with such varied and interesting personalities (one can't help thinking of them as friends), you feel as though you know each of them personally. After reading this book all I can say is: Ahoy! (anna bottle!) Off to the next adventure!!!
