From April 1995 to June 1996 I attempted to gain employment as a police officer, but God allowed every door to be shut. I was told off record that one department turned me down because I was a Christian, another department said my previous employer wanted to remain anonymous, but said, "I was the worst." I tried selling houses with a little success and I tried professional bowling with no financial success. I had friends tell me to not be so open about my faith and there were times that I almost started to take their advice, but Gods Word prevailed; Matthew 10:33-34; "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven."

ONE MORE DAY
Did you ever wonder, when you go to bed,
If the prayer that you're prayin', is worth bein' said.
Well I used to wonder, so I gave God a test,
I prayed for a million, as I laid to rest.
Then all through the night, as I laid sound asleep,
I knew God was workin', to prove He's not cheap.
A sweepstakes, a lotto, an estate in my name,
The list could be endless with fortune and fame.
I'll give to the homeless, I'll give to the poor,
I'll give to the Churches and charities galore.
For if there is a God, who could pass such a test,
I'll know I'm not lucky, just prayerfully blessed.
Then all of a sudden, the sun hit my eyes,
A new day had found me and before I could rise,
A voice in the distance, shook the bed where I lay,
"Your prayer is answered, you get One More Day!"

| Bill, I think that your book sounds very inspiring and uplifting. It's much like the book I've written, "Everlasting Peace In Your Life. God's Reminders to the World." It is hard to believe how you were treated William because of your faith. Here in Baltimore I use to work with this police officer of faith who became a chaplin while he was a police officer. He also became one of the police department chaplins and I think he still is.

I am a 32 year old police academy cadet., July 25, 2000,
So very inspirational.....
In reading this book, it doesn't take long to know that the author has been given a gift from God. I would recommend this book to people of all ages, for I thoroughly enjoyed it.

For anyone who feels backed into a corner
This book is a true inspiration to anyone who feels trapped or cornered by life or situations that occur in life. The words, I believe, were truly spoken by God and written down by this author. Almost never, do we as Americans witness this extent of religous persecution, but praise God, through these poems we get to see the peace in Jesus Christ, and how through God's son, with love, the persecuted will be victorious. Even as Jesus was victorious over Satan in death, and fulfilled his promise to rise from the grave, so shall the persecuted in his name sake also be |

Worth reading!
This book is certainly worth reading for everyone. William Heffner masters the art of putting profound thoughts into a clear language which leaves no room for misinterpretation. The layout with a picture and a Bible verse to each poem makes the book a wonderful gift at any occasion |
