"A Taste of the Sublime" is a collection of sonnets which can stand alone as powerful and inspiring poems, but together, tell a story of love, loss, and self discovery. The book follows two main characters initially referred to only as the Driver, and the Passenger. It begins in the present in the middle of an apparently trivial affair between the two, but then flashes back to what events in their lives led the two to come together. In their seemingly trivial affair, they discover that a true loving attraction can never be anything but spectacular. The poems, though in sonnet form, are easily accessible to the reader, and allow for a broad range of interpretation and meaning. “A Taste of the Sublime” will do exactly what the title suggests, leading the reader away from the monotonies of life, and providing them with an encounter that is truly sublime.

The Kiss
Their lips were electric as they drew near
Sending sensations before they could touch,
Moved by magnetism strong and sincere
Their senses straining to sense so much.
Their bodies embraced as their hearts both raced.
Their mouths grew wet while their skin glistened with sweat.
Not wanting to waste a moment or taste,
Savoring each second till at last their lips met
In an explosion of passion, pleasure, and peace
Profound yet primal in its power to release
Such sublime sensations that could only increase
As long as the action continued without cease.
Such bliss in this kiss spurred their souls to soar
To live and to love as never before.
