Drawing from extensive research in the field of child development and early parenting, The READY Method highlights five key aspects of responsive parenting that contribute to the social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.
The READY Method
The READY Method™ teaches parents and caregivers how to become observers of their own interactions with young children. The DVD shows what gentle, responsive caregiving looks like while the companion book provides detailed explanations of the five READY dimensions along with thought-provoking exercises.
With the READY Method, you can:
- Become more sensitive and responsive by understanding the subtleties of infant and toddler communication.
- Learn how to stimulate a child’s social, emotional, and intellectual development.
- Build secure attachment relationships through gentle parenting techniques.
- Respond to a child with confidence and ease.
The READY Method provides instructional guidance by two developmental psychologists and demonstrated by real parents with their own infants and toddlers. Designed for parents, The READY Method has been used successfully with early child care providers and educators.
For each of the five READY dimensions, we provide examples of higher quality and lower quality interactions to help you visualize and develop your skills. The READY™ Method will increase your awareness of your own behavior and show you how to tune in to a child’s needs and interests.
