The Peppermint Elephant

This is a story about an elephant that loves peppermint and cannot get enough. It is an illustrated poem. Very colorful and an activity page plus a surprise ending.

The book is for children through 7 years of age.  It is a beautifully illustrated poem about a jungle elephant that goes searching and dreaming of eating peppermint.  The illustrations are done in a way that gives the elephant his own personality.  The book has a "color your own peppermint elephant" page that the children love.  It is a whimsical and cute story.  At the school and library readings I have participated in, the children are quite taken with it.

The book is 8 x 10 and has 16 pages. It is very colorful and appeals to young readers. The poem is whimsical and children up through 7 years enjoy the book very much. It is available on many internet sites (just enter in the search engine "The Peppermint Elephant Joan F. Springer) it also can be ordered in a local bookstore by giving the ISBN #1-4120-4454-5 and the author's name Joan F. Springer. The book sells for $8.00. The poem starts out.....

"I once knew an elephant who liked to eat peppermint, so much he would eat it all day. He would eat peppermint patties and peppermint sticks; he even ate peppermint hay!"

The book as a coloring activity also which the children enjoy.
