"Illegal Aliens" - by P. Gomes
Paco walked up to Joe cautiously, mindful of the blood on the floor. Buckets of ice chips had overturned in the melee; the floor was a sopping skating rink of slippery scales and small bones from the fish. There was blood everywhere. It was impossible to tell how much was from the day's catch and how much had come from the dead INS Agents.
"Boss," Paco began. "I'm sorry, Boss. But you said to keep my eyes open, right?"
"Your eyes, Paco . . . just your fuckin' eyes. I didn't tell you to kill anybody!"
"But, Boss, you said we can't afford another bust from Immigration. We can't have the Feds shut us down, man. We got families to feed, kids that gotta have shoes. It was the right thing, Boss. They got no business here!"
