Chapter Two
In the early part of 1986, while I was living in Massachusetts, I was in the process of obtaining a divorce from my first husband. I was working part-time, and two or three times a month when I was not working, I would travel by train to Boston. This is a city for which I hold a great affection and one whose pleasures I miss since returning to the UK. On one occasion, as I was retracing my steps to the station in order to return home, I noticed a bookstore on the other side of the street. It was obviously not new, yet I had never previously been aware of it, even though I had passed that way many times before. I have always enjoyed browsing through bookstores so I crossed over to the other side and entered the store. I had been channeling Moon's words for about nineteen months at that time, therefore, I was continually on the lookout for any books which would give me an insight into what I was experiencing. I remained very skeptical about the messages I was receiving, even though friends and family were convinced they were genuine.
I looked for the section that contained metaphysical works and found a single stand with shelves containing a number of books. I approached the bookstand and stood in front of it, readying myself to read the titles. Before I had read more than a couple of these, a book on the shelf just above my eye level demanded my attention. It literally fell off the shelf as though an invisible hand at the back of the stand had pushed it forward. The bookstand was solid and it was against a wall, therefore, no one had moved the book from the back. As I caught the book before it fell to the floor, I thought it was just one of those odd things that sometimes happen in life. However, when I read the title, 'Messages from Michael,' I realized that it was a book about channeling messages from the spirit plane, and I was well pleased with the happy coincidence. Today, I do not believe in coincidences, I am sure Moon gave the book to me. At that point in time, he needed to prove to me that he existed, and making me aware of 'Messages from Michael' was one of several ways in which, eventually, he did this.
I purchased the book and began reading it on the journey home. It told the reader about a group of people in California who had been channeling messages since 1970 from a collective consciousness named Michael. The words of this spirit teacher were given through the Ouija Board rather than, as with Moon, automatic writing. I continued reading the book over the next few days and it soon became apparent to me that there were strong similarities between Michael's and Moon's teachings and terminology. Both Michael and Moon spoke about souls that had come from a divine being, that were continually dividing and reuniting with themselves so that they could return to it. Michael indicated that all souls have choice, which was exactly what Moon had already told me. According to both Michael and Moon, souls have ages and can be divided into types, or classes.
I was surprised by these and other similarities and Moon quickly picked up on my thoughts. He explained:
"Today I wish to give you more information on those who, like me, are in contact with those who, like you, are in the physical plane. Your thoughts have been centered upon this subject because of the book that you are presently reading. You have wondered if I am Michael. I am not Michael, for the energy force known to the group, of whom you have been reading, is a conclave of facets who are channeling information. They are all facets which radiated out from the original energy force of strength and vitality whom for your understanding I have named Michael. You and my brother (a reference to my older son) are correct in believing that names are not important, they merely make what is being channeled more acceptable. The truth behind the information is always there, no matter in what terms it may be couched...
When you first made contact with Moon, you were communicating with a group of facets which were melding their energy in order to write through you. I was also of that group, as I am of many groups which contain facets of my original supersoul. Because this type of grouping takes place within my domains, I have dominance over these groups and can contact you with or without their aid...
