ANGRY SEAS


Greenish-white foam came rolling... spilling o’er the stern.
Blustery winds... blowing... whipping... tossing the ship.
The Captain let ‘er ride... sailing head-on into the angry seas.

Huge waves carried the little ship high into the air—suspended it
in space—then, as if in slow motion—
cast it into the deep, dark abyss.

Looking up, the Captain prayed that The Great Captain would see his
plight . . . reach down His Almighty Hand and command the waves:
“PEACE, BE STILL!”

Churning seas again caught the ship in its angry grasp, flinging it
high in the choppy waters... twirling... twisting... whirling it about—
threatening to utterly break it apart. In the fury of the raging storm,
the ship sailed on.

Darkness shrouded early evening. Clouds rolled, as black as night. Howling winds roared... Lightning split the Heavens...
Thunder rolled... and rolled... and rolled. Greenish-white foam spilled o’er the stern. Then... silence.

The Captain lay still. Slowly, he opened his eyes. Golden rays of sunlight streamed ‘cross the room... tiny sunbeams danced upon
his coverlet. Arising, he went to the window, threw back the sash...

A gentle breeze kissed the dawning of a new day.
Dewdrops sparkled upon tall, swaying grass.
A mockingbird’s melodious song wafted through the open window…

AH! It was only a DREAM… Morning brought a lovely,
unclouded sky.
