January's Heat is a futuristic adventure that features a woman of the early 21st century as the heroine, Lois, who pretty much was your average everyday woman - before the government convenced her to change... a bit.
Lois's government appointed lover, who then became her friend, was just your run-of-the-mill guy, Frank. Together, the two of them test life to the limits not only through two countries, but also back and forth between the present and the future. It takes place in Washington, D.C. and Paris, France in the first decade of the 21st century, with their mentor, Harry, the director of FLoPE (Future Life on Planet Earth), making plans for them for the next 8,000 years... that is if they survive the many attempts on their lives by their nemisis, Madame Cherry, an evil and very vindictive French woman who tries poison, decapitation, and shooting to try to kill them. There's also a bit of romance that the male and female readers will enjoy as it is written from both viewpoints and with feeling. January's Heat is fiction... though if you work with or have any dealings with the Government, you just never know if it's fiction or not. The sequel is entitled Remembering Tomorrow.

A totally black background intermingled with colored lights, swirls and shapes, danced behind his eyes in a characteristically deep sleep creating havoc with his senses. Things were everywhere but nothing had any definitive shape or pattern. People, were simply vague forms. Feeling…he could feel himself holding his love tightly next to his chest where her softness, and pleasantly spicy scent, brought back remembrances of Christmas, Mom, apple pie and…love. Sound was at first muted off in the distance, then suddenly became loud explosions accompanied by blinding light inside his head. Smell was an acidic blackness that stung his nose giving birth to memories of long ago when war and death used to be his bedfellow and mistress. Then it was gone…all gone. Vanished. The hotel, the town, his loved one, everything, melded into dust, smoke, noise and confusion, then dissolved. His eyes were open but he could not see. His mouth was opened in a blood-curdling scream, but there was no sound.
