Six wealthy ladies in a Seniors dog walking club make a wager to get a new boyfriend. The result is a hilarious romp through the unknown territory of senior sexuality.
The Scene is set in "The Wager" as Gloria Gustafson, a glamorous, retired stage star proposes an outrageous bet to her five, wealthy senior friends. The one of them that can get a new lover by Christmas will donate the $60.000.00 to the charity of their choice. Will it be Linda 'Canine Lover' Daniels, a semi-retired veterinarian with a ten year unrequited love problem, Esther 'Perky' Goodenough, the oldest member of the group, Honey 'Y'all' Pratt, recently from the deep South, Virginia 'Prissy' Kelly, the widow of a minister, or Gloria herself who wins the bet? The result is a hilarious romp through the unknown territory of Senior Sexuality.
Excerpt
"So Monica," minutes later Lorne decided to probe Malcolm's latest love about his relative as Round three ended and the fighter's trainers attempted to revive the rapidly exhausting boxers. "What's it like dating my uncle? He's more than half a lifetime older than you."
Lorne's voice was loud as he was speaking above the boxing commentator's voice. The commentator suddenly stopped speaking just as Lorne asked his question and boxing fans around Lorne nudge each other, pointed to the sexy lady Lorne was talking to, and eagerly waited for her answer.
"Actually, Malcoom's pretty good at it," Monica testified to Lorne's increased discomfort and the delight of the boxing fans within hearing distance. "He's very experienced, you know. Know's all the moves. He's taught me a lot."

Judge's Commentary - "I enjoyed your delightful sense of humor and ability to describe scenes so that I felt as if I were one of the group taking part in all their activities, etc. Your characterization was excellent, and I suppose that is also part of your skill in description, each character was distinct and easily identifiable; each person had a personality of his/her own so that nothing seemed stereotyped or repetitive. This was a group of feisty, sexy, active ladies, and their male counterparts. The book left me wanting to read more, and wishing that I were part of this circle of dog walkers. The dogs were delightful, and I couldn't help thinking how fortunate this group was to have such a lovely spot where the dogs and their owners could enjoy the outdoors together. Your skill as a fiction writer is well developed, and I enjoyed your book immensely."
